Girls Reunion Weekend in Austin

Last weekend my girlfriends, all previously from NY, now from all over came to visit and meet Mr. Clive.  We had such a great time catching up!!  Since none of us live in the same city anymore (NYC, DC, Austin, Houston & Charlotte), we had lots to chat about.  We had soooo much fun, but it also reminded me how much I miss them all. :(

Thursday night Kristina got in and we immediately went and had some much needed Modelo's and Mexican at Pulvos. Friday morning we got up and played with Jack...he talked about KRIS-TEE-NAH all weekend long. We took him to school and then the 3 of us went for breakfast tacos.

It was a crazy downpour on Friday so the friends flying in were having some issues with their plane arrivals.  Katie was supposed to have a layover in Houston, but the plane had to stop in Austin due to low fuel...scary!!  Anywho, she asked them nicely as they waited on the tarmac if she could just get off since Austin was actually her final destination. Of course they tell her no because its against regulations blah blah blah. Then the pilot secretly calls her to the front and they sneaked her and her bag off off the plane.  AMAZING! I've never known an airline to go out of their way like this. So Katie got in an hour early, but poor Ilyse flying in from DC was an hour late.  Luckily they all made it safely!!

Once everyone got to the house it was time for lunch.  Lisa and I went to the Le Barbecue food truck to get some grub. As soon as we walked up, they handed us this giant piece of brisket about the size of my hand and then said hello and asked us what we would like to order.  It was amazing...every place should greet you with a big ol piece of meat!  Well, that sounds gross, but it was really yummy. ha!

Ilyse and I both have September birthdays, so the girls were sweet enough to surprise us with some cake and ice cream...and turkey hat accessories.

Jack got a couple presents too!

After lunch we played with Clive and Jack then took the girls to Hotel San Jose to get ready for our boat cruise.  We had so much fun on the boat watching the bats and sunset with bottles of champagne.  And a big thanks to captain Jacob for driving us around, and having to listen to all of our girl talk!!  After the boat we had a delicious pizza dinner at The Backspace.  Our weekend was pretty much planned around playtime with the boys and meals!

Saturday morning we went to Tacos + Tequila for an all-you-can-eat brunch. Delicious!  Then off to the co-op to get some Texas gear for the TX vs K-State game. We did some tailgating at Scholz Beer Garten then walked to the stadium for game time.

My other brother from another mother..Mike

Sunday more eating!  Another yummy brunch then a little more play time with the boys and then I had to take the girls to the airport...booo!!  A few of them were actually pretty excited to get to the airport since Salt Lick will vacuum pack and seal an entire brisket to go if you ask them too. :) I'm sure their husbands were grateful.
We had such a great time and I am already looking forward to our next girl trip!!
