San Diego

Jake and I wanted to take the boys on a trip with just the 4 of us before the summer craziness started. Clive had never flown before so we wanted to make sure the flight wasn't too long, and we thought San Diego would be a perfect destination.

The boys were really great on the flights and thankfully no one had any ear issues.

We got in to SD and went to Snooze for breakfast then off to the Zoo. This zoo is massive and hilly. I'm not gonna lie, we used pretty much every form of transportation in this place with these little boys or else they would have been wiped the rest of the day.

We then headed to our hotel to check in. We stayed at the W Hotel, Gaslamp which is the polar opposite of a kid friendly hotel...it is uber trendy. I giggled a little bit every time we walked through that place with two kiddos in tow.

Happy hour every afternoon on the rooftop deck. Clive even had a sprite next to Jimmy Clausen, Chicago Bears backup QB.

Jason, our San Diego insider recommended a lot of fun craft breweries we needed to visit. Our favorite was Modern Times. Luckily it was BYOFood so we picked up Hodad's for the boys and my favorite fish tacos in Ocean Beach and set up shop at the brewery.

I was a pretty happy girl at this moment! South Beach fish tacos are fantastic!!

The next morning we had breakfast in La Jolla at Brockton Villa. It's on a hillside with an amazing view of the ocean and their specialty is a version of french toast called "coast toast".

Then off to Legoland. We told Jack prior to our trip about Legoland and it pretty much blew his mind. He was unable to focus on anything else and kept asking us when we were going to San DeLego.

He is pretty much the happiest kid on earth right here, he was so excited! 

Clive & I rode these jeeps through a safari about 8 times...obsessed! He only wanted to ride the cheetah so the poor attendant had to let loads of cars pass through empty so Clive could get on the cheetah. 

He drove those jeeps like he was performing brain surgery, soo serious and focused!

We went on a Thursday so the park was empty which was pretty fantastic...no lines so those boys rode anything and everything!

Amazing!

Jack kept saying how pretty Wild Style was. hehe!

That night we found another local brew pub in OB with pizza and arcade games

We got a little rain the next day so off to the indoor Birch Aquarium

Then I got my hour 1/2 mothers day massage while the boys went to Soda and Swine for meatballs and root beer floats.

Back to the W for pool time

We then walked to the Padres game. We played in the park area pre game then headed to our bleacher seats in the beach area. These are the best seats ever for kids! They created a little beach in the outfield where they have attendants come by to ask the kids and make sure they are all happy...if they aren't they bring them more beach toys. So fun! We all had a blast!

Our last day we headed back to La Jolla for breakfast and an afternoon at the beach...it was a beautiful day!

We squeezed in one more fish taco...literally, at the Pacific Beach Fish Shop, then it was time to head to the airport :(
Just as Clive was getting used to SD livin', barefoot shoving in those tacos.
