Last weekend me and some of my girlfriends all met for a ridiculously fun weekend in Denver!
Brooke and I have been friends since elementary all the way to being college roommates in our tiny tiny dorm room at SWT. Needless to say we know each other pretty well. Monica and I met her first day of HS new student orientation freshman year and have been besties ever since. Jeannette and I have known each other all throughout school and became even better friends after she inadvertently introduced me to Jacob in college. :)
We decided on Denver because Brooke lives in PHX and we needed a place to meet in the middle. We seriously didn't plan a thing until two weeks before our trip and man we packed it in.
We all arrived Friday evening and had dinner and some drinks.
Saturday some slept in and the rest walked to breakfast at Snooze. Then we all regrouped and ubered our way to Morrison for some white water rafting. Jeannette was the only one who had done it before and she was just as nervous as the rest of us...so it wasn't all that reassuring. ha! We get there and it was the most relaxed place ever...so relaxed we were worried we would make our other plans for the day. Finally we loaded up in our vans. It was us, about 20 guys there for a bachelor party and a boat of retired couples. Our boat took off first, we figured they did that in case one of us fell out, there would be 8 boats behind us full of dudes to catch us. :) Luckily no one fell out and we kicked butt!! I even rode the bull which means I hopped on the front of the front edge of the boat and road it through some rapids...it was fun but I got WET!
Chris, our instructor was awesome and he obviously knew where the photographer was since he looks amazing in all of our pictures.
We obviously did not!!
After our rafting trip we headed back to Denver to very very quickly dry out and get ready to hop on a party bus back to Morrison to see the Avett Brothers at Red Rocks.
Red Rocks was breathtaking...it was absolutely gorgeous! Our bus arrived early so everyone could do a little tailgating, which gave us more time to visit and catch up.
We were taking so many pictures (and so was everyone else) that we made picture taking friends. They were supposed to be taking a pic of us and snapped this gem for us to find later :)
The only thing we weren't expecting was this massive hike up to the concert venue. Luckily we had this fantastic double rainbow to stare at as we trekked our way up there.
The hike up the hill was way worth it!
Even my hot dog looks pretty here!
The concert was so much fun! Even the bus ride home was a good time...they had a giant speaker that blasted the Avett Brothers so we had our own sing-a-long back to Denver.
Colorado is known for their craft beer, so Sunday we hit up the Great Divide brewery for a pre-Rockies game beer.
We got to the game and headed up to the rooftop bar for a beer and some snacks, then down to our seats for the rest of the game.
After the game it was time to head to the airport. We really packed in a ton in just a few days and had a blast! We had so much fun catching up and telling stories...I think we laughed the whole weekend!
