Jack's Baptism Weekend

The good thing about your first child is you get to make every life event a big party.  Baby showers, the birth, first birthdays, first Cowboys game, etc.  Jack's baptism this weekend was no different.

My family fought the TX/OU traffic to come stay with us for the weekend.  We kicked it off with a feast of Chinese take-out on Friday night.  Everyone called it a little early to make sure we had enough energy to make it through the busy weekend.  Well, except Judy and Doug who left us to go hang out with the 'festive' OU fans at the local La Quinta.

Saturday morning started as every Saturday morning should...Breakfast Tacos!  We took advantage of the weather (and the OU blowout) and headed over to the Dallas Arboretum.  If you haven't been, it's an amazing place and this time of year they have pumpkins everywhere.  To our delight, they also had beer & brats for the adults to have a little Oktoberfest celebration.  Saturday evening we cooked out hamburgers and then settled in for a Rangers win and some much needed rain.

Sunday was the big day and Jack was nice enough to give us a little extra beauty rest.  Jake's family met us at the church and everyone was treated to front row seats.  The actual baptism was quick, but went well and Jack enjoyed his show off spin around the congregation.  It was nice to have everyone there to be a part of this special occasion.  Everyone came back for brunch and we even had a visit from the McDonough clan.

Pics of the great weekend are below!

Cuz!

Ready for the TX/OU game

Saturday afternoon at the Pumpkin Village.  The car ride over was too much for Braden.

Who cares about pumpkins when there are emergency vehicles to check out.

Oktoberfest at the Arboretum...brats and beers!

Loving each other a bit too much
