It was a pretty eventful weekend and of course I have pics to document just about every second. :)
Our beach house
Pappa Doug and his grandsons
What!?
These guys were like two peas in a pod.
Braden is starting to chat it up, and when he would call Jack he all of a sudden became French and would call him Jacq.
Fun at the beach!
Jack became very independent this trip. He pretty much refused to let you carry him to the beach, so whomever got stuck walking with Jack was always a little late the the party.
One of the highlights of our trip was a dolphin boat tour. We were all nicely enjoying our boat ride out to see the dolphins when the coast guard alarm went off on the boat. The capitan tells us they have received a distressed sign of a boat nearby and if we see them we are required to help out. So everyone is confused and looking around for this boat in trouble. Then we see a boat in the water totally flipped over and smoking and next to it is another boat full of pirates...yes pirates. After we passed by the pirate boat they started to chase after our boat. Obviously after we see this boat full of old men in cutoff t-shirts and plastic swords, combined with the fact that Port A is not known for having pirates, we realize we were in for a bit of a show.
Phillip on the lookout for the boat in trouble.
Jack and I spot the pirates and are getting ready to fight!! They armed us all with water guns so we were ready when they boarded the boat. Yes, these are the silly and absurd things you do to entertain your children. :)
Phillip was unsure about the pirates at first...that was until they shot Cheetos out of a cannon at us then he was totally loving it!!
This is probably the best picture of the entire weekend and kudos to Jacob for capturing it. As soon as this pirate hopped on he immediately thought Pappa Doug was a threat...luckily dad had his water gun aimed at his face!
We win the pirate battle and they leave the boat. Time to chill out with dad and check out the dolphins.
On Monday after spending the morning at the beach, it was time to head back to the real world. Mom, dad and Jen were kind enough to take Sir Deebs-A-Lot back to Austin for us so that we could take Jack to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi. We had a great lunch on the beach then headed over to the aquarium to tire him out. :) We pretty much let him run all over the place. He has learned to say "oooooh" when he likes something...he was "ooooh-ing" and pointing at everything that moved. Our plan worked and Jack slept the entire car ride home.

What a BLAST!! I LOVE the pirate attack. How great is a cannon that shoots Cheetos!!!! Fun times. I wouldn't mind being late to the party if I got to walk with Jack!
