Red River New Mexico: Trip Part 1

We just got back from our annual Red River trip. Our cabins are right on the river and the deer just come right over to say hello. I was a bit obsessed!

We had a little celebration for mom and dads anniversary!

And a belated birthday for Pops

We always take a day trip to Taos and stop at the Taos Mesa Brewery...its the prettiest brewery i've ever been to. This year we came just in time for their first Blues Brunch and it was so fun to hear live music as we ate and drank!

Down the street from the brewery was a gorge that Jennifer heard about which was really pretty!

Clives teacher Azgad does a family trip to Taos every year and they recommended an ice cream shop that seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere. It was a fun little discovery!

Then we bring the boys into downtown Taos to Twirl to play!

Jake and I got a date night while the boys got a sleepover at Honeys

Random...the pool chalk is in the elks ear. ha!

One morning we went on a 7 mile hike with Angela and Jeff in the mountains

Elevation increase was from 9,600 to 10,950. Due to the elevation we were all breathing hard right from the start, but it was beautiful at the top and well worth it!

Jake brought us all celebratory beers, but it might have been best to wait until we got to the bottom. Beer, elevation and walking down a tiny trail with giant drop offs isn't the best combo.

The boys had fun catching fish in the stream this year!

This year we took the boys on the go-karts and they LOVED it...so we did it twice!

We also took the ski lift up to the Lift House up top. Last year I was sick as a dog with food poisoning so this year was definitely more enjoyable!!

The chipmunks are another level cute here and they just stuff their cheeks with nuts and fruit...so adorable!

Kori nabbed this sweet little picture!

No filter y'all...it's just that pretty!

We did lots of grilling, hanging out and of course a trip wouldn't be the same without super heros!
