Scotland Part 3: Orkney Islands

We hopped back in our cars and headed to the ferry. The ferry to Orkney Islands was about an hour long.

It was a bit windy!

On our way to the hotel we stopped by the Italian Chapel. It was built by POW during WW2.

The next morning we went to check out the Tomb of the Eagles. I missed some of the tour, but apparently it's a Stone Age tomb on the South Ronaldsay cliffs where bones and artifacts were placed over 5,000 years ago. The mile walk out to the cliffs was beautiful!

To get into the tomb you had to lay down and scooter your way in. Clive didn't want to go by himself so I just loaded him up.

I met this little friend while we were waiting for everyone.

It worked that we were in the land of lots of grass and green space, it gave these boys ample opportunity to run, play chase and burn that little kid energy!

Meanwhile while we were at the tomb mom and dad met with his cousin in town to show them around the Orkney Islands.

That evening we went to her nieces home for dinner.

There was a lot of family there to meet us which was really cool. And lots of kids to play with. Kids do what kids do and they get to playing!

After dinner we headed down to the beach for shell searching and a bon fire...that didn't start till 9 because it was still so bright out!

The next morning we had a 9am whisky distillery tour at SCAPA...9am people!!

Then after that we had a tour at the Ornkey Brewery. It was a really cute place because they had things for the kids all along the tour and while we got our beer tastings the kids got a juice tasting and they were super serious about it!
